The Name
It used to be called Nektr, but someone got to that name first. Here’s what happened and why the new name is better.
Nektr felt like the perfect name: it felt like honey, it was bold, yet easygoing. It was easy to pronounce, and the funky spelling gave it grit. Well as all things do, that name and I went separate ways.
The new name started with names following the latin root, some thoughts on coloradan inspired names, but nothing felt like our pre workout. That was until I remembered my Indian heritage. I looked into names following hindu tradition, elixirs, and similar items and one name came running out at me: SOMA.
Soma is used first in an ancient Indian text called the Rigveda. In the text soma is a fluid, considered to be the elixir of the gods, a god in itself, an all powerful deity. The drink is one of immortality, of physical strength and of courage.
The prefix: Au, is a homage to my roots as a physicist from the Colorado School of Mines in Golden. Au is the chemical symbol for gold, it also happens to be my home, and where I learn. Yet none of those reasons tops how well gold suits the main ingredient in AuSOMA, honey. Honey is liquid gold. It grants us sustainable energy, improves our immune system, regulates our gastrointestinal track, and is naturally occuring. Nothing screams gold the way honey does.
Together, AuSOMA is the golden drink of the gods. The drink that grants physical power and confidence to its user. To me, nothing will scream preworkout like that.
AuSOMA was made to conquer your world. Be it on the track, the mats, the great mountains, or the raging tides: Let AuSOMA grant you power when you need it.
